Sidda Lee Tate... New Release

Falling for him was easy, but can she let him go?

After a year of travel, fun-loving pool shark Lynette Brooks has settled in Pineville to be near her cousin. She doesn't plan to be there long, and she doesn't expect fate to step in, sweeping her off her feet. But when she meets the serious cop, Ty Sellers, she sees a challenge and is determined to get to know him.

Ty is a no-nonsense, by-the-book lawman who keeps to himself. Living in a fog of misery is exactly what he deserves, and getting emotionally attached to someone is not an option…until he meets Lynette. She's spontaneous, reckless, and a gorgeous haphazard of a woman who threatens to break through his guarded walls and unsettles emotions he buried long ago.

The chemistry between them is undeniable, but the guilt Ty lives with every day causes him to push Lynette away. All she wants is him, but how much of his wavering can she take before letting go for good?

Content Warning: strong language and graphic sex

~Excerpt~

Lynette slipped her shoes off, rolled her jeans to her knees, and dipped her feet in the cool lake. A massive weeping willow loomed overhead, by the light of the night the cascading leaves looked like a flowing waterfall.

She stared at the tree for a moment then flashed Ty a smile. "Thanks for bringing me here."

He put the cooler down next to an iron framed chair with beige cushions and sat on the edge. "I called in a favor. No big deal."

"Sharon and Kyle are pretty great. I've been to their house, seen the tropical paradise backyard, but this… I had no idea it was so beautiful. No wonder Kayla asked to have her wedding here." She raised an eyebrow, gave him a teasing grin. "Have you decided yet if you're going?"

"Depends."

"Well, if you do go, be warned, there will be dancing." Lynette plucked her feet from the water and stood. She grabbed her phone from her front pocket and searched through her music. She'd never danced lakeside under moonlight, and didn't want to pass up the chance, or the opportunity to be in his arms again. "You might want to practice. After all, there's no better way to woo the ladies. What will your date think if you're not fully prepared to swing her around the dance floor as if you own it?"

"Are you saying I'm a bad dancer, Miss Brooks?"

"Nope. I'm seizing the moment." She hit play on her phone, and a slow melody filled the silence of the night air. "Dance with me."

"Here?" he asked, glancing around at their surroundings.

"Of course! Why not?" Lynette grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet. The hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. The gesture caused all kinds of crazy little birds to take flight in her chest. "What else are we gonna do? Sit here and drink beer until we both pass out?" She laughed once then stood firm, feigning a serious face. "Wait, you didn't bring me out here to the most romantic spot I've seen in forever for nothing, did you?"

"I thought you'd like it." A huge smile plastered his face.

Ty took her other hand, maneuvered her in a half twist so her back was to his chest, then spun her out to the extent of his arm and back in where they faced each other. His right hand landed on the small of her back and pulled her close. He chuckled and did some kind of waltz type step to the music. Placing his palm on her chest, he pushed until her back arched in a way she never knew it could. Slowly, Ty ran his hand down the length of her torso, leaving a trail of unbridled heat that sent every ounce of blood in her body gushing straight to her core. By the time he jerked her back up her entire body had become a trembling heap. When their eyes met, she nearly came apart and fell through the cracks of the wood decking. What the hell?

Lynette wrapped her arms around his neck to keep from sliding through his hold, and tried her damnedest to control her lungs. She swallowed hard to tamp down the shaking in her throat. It didn't work, and her words came out sounding weak, quavering. "Someone's showing off."

"Someone asked for it," he said, low and resolute.

Coda opened the door and walked into the bathroom as he shaved. His towel hung low off his hips. The whole bathroom smelled of him. It made her insides quiver. When he caught a glimpse of her in the mirror he dropped his razor into the sink.
“You dropped something,” she said as she reached for her makeup bag. “This bathroom is big enough for us to share. You don’t mind, do you?”
“You’re practically naked.” He gawked at her lacey silver bra and matching thong.
“If we were on the beach, you’d see me in my bikini.” She took in his damp skin, mesmerized by the drop of water that trickled down his chest. She watched as it disappeared into the towel just above his...
Stay in control. I need to seduce him.
“We’re not on the beach.” He picked up his razor and rinsed it off under the faucet. “If we were, there is no way in hell I’d allow you wear something like that.”
“Really? You wouldn’t allow me?”
“No.” He growled.
“Why not? Don’t you like the way I look?”
“That’s not the point.” He struggled not to look at her but she saw his gaze make contact with her body in the reflection of the mirror. “I’d have to kill anyone who looked at you.”
“You did pay for this underwear, so I figured you should at least get to see it.”
“That was very kind of you.” He concentrated on shaving.
She applied her makeup, hoping he’d make some kind of move to let her know he was interested in her. He’d admitted it the night before. She had to get him to act on it.
When he finished, he wiped his face with a warm washcloth but missed a spot just under his left earlobe. She shimmied her way in between him and the counter. He looked down at her lips. She used that to her advantage as she slowly ran the tip of her tongue along them.
“Let me help you.” She reached up and swiped her thumb across his jaw and to the small spot of shaving cream he’d left behind. “You missed some.” She held out her thumb to show him
before using his towel to wipe it off. She squeezed his rock hard thigh. “You’re so muscular.”
“What are you doing?” His words were controlled but clipped. “I thought we decided—”
“You decided.” She closed the space between them. “I bet your chest is just as toned as your legs.” She trailed her fingers along his pecs and down to his stomach, tracing each of his well-defined six pack abs during her exploration. The lower she went, the harder his breathing became.
“Stop taunting me.” He lifted her up and sat her on the cool tiled counter, spreading her legs as he stepped in between them.
“Or what?” she challenged him.
“You’ll find out just how aggressive I can be.” He gripped her inner thighs. “But you probably like it rough.”

“You didn’t deserve…” he said, in almost a whisper. An angry one. “Is he the reason you think you’re fucked up?”
She didn’t answer. She didn’t need to. He knew. She could tell it in his voice, see it in his stride as he moved toward her. Felt it in his touch as he cupped her face with his hands, lifting it so her tearful sight had no other choice but to look him straight on.
“You can’t believe him. You’re no one’s trash.” His eyes seemed to grow darker, pained, fixated on hers. Lost in them, she couldn’t look away. Couldn’t speak. “You are beautiful…so beautiful it hurts.” He bent down, resting his forehead on hers. “I would do anything to have you.”
She swallowed hard at the way he’d spoken, slow and determined, as if those words were a concentrated version of everything he’d ever wanted to say. And she understood why. Through all the confusion in her mind, the war with the tug in her chest, the burning need to touch him, she realized, she felt the same way. “Then have me.”

“Take the rest of your clothes off. Leave the necklace and heels on.” His voice had a slight growl along with his words, so firm and resolute in the delivery, instinctively she dared not disobey him.
She did as he said but turned her back out of embarrassment. She’d never undressed in front of a man before. Most of the time her boyfriends would pull down her undergarments and usually did so in at least semi-dark instead of a well-lit room, and Marcus obviously didn’t plan to relieve her of the remainder of her clothes. First, she unfastened the zipper of the skirt and let the fabric slip over her hips and to the floor. She stepped out of it and kicked it aside. Then, came the bra followed by slipping a finger under the edge of the lacy thong, ever so slowly sliding it down her legs.
The eroticism of the deliberate striptease made her insides burn with passion. The liquid heat building in her pussy had her panting with anticipation of what she knew was to happen shortly. She bent at the waist, knowing he could easily see the wetness between her thighs. He released another low growl from his throat, and his hand gripped her waist, pulling her toward him slowly. As she stepped out of the thin slip of fabric, his hands rubbed gently over her bare ass. The sensation sent tingles throughout her body, warming every inch of her flesh.

“I want to see every inch of your skin, to touch you all over. Experience you like this is our first time.” Then he slipped one digit under the strap of her bra and gently nudged it off her shoulder. Reaching around, he unclipped the fastener and the delicate lacy fabric fell to the ground. Cupping the lush flesh of her breasts, he kneaded the generous orbs until she leaned forward against him.
“Oh, don’t stop, Sorin,” she pleaded softly.
His fingers gently traced the contours of her brow, her cheek, her jaw, slowly moving toward the curve of her throat. Bending his head forward, he brushed his mouth across the tingling skin, trailing tiny kisses down her neck.
“Oh yes, I want that too. Please…” Her voice trailed off.
Sorin’s grin widened. “But first, I want to taste you.” He dropped to his knees between her legs and brushed his hand across the skin of her thigh. “Spread your legs for me, angel.”
Without hesitation, she did as he demanded. Using one finger, he hooked it around the elastic and tugged the slight slip of lacy fabric down over her hips, then tore them away from her body, growling his pleasure.
“Hey, those were my nicest pair.”
“I’ll get you another.” One hand held her hip and the other palmed her mound. He glanced up at her and licked his lips, then slipped his tongue between her tender folds, tasting her with a groan of what sounded like relief.

Spotlight with Sidda Lee Tate

I'm thrilled to welcome fellow Beachwalk Press author Sidda Lee Tate to the blog...

Hi all and thanks for joining in the celebration of my newest release, Give in to Me, the third book in The Night Series.

The attraction between Jennica and Scott is undeniable, but will her past show up to ruin it all?
After years of being gone, Scott Sims has returned to his hometown. Life is good. He likes his new job, has reconnected with his sister, and even met a "friend with benefits" at the local bar. He does his best to ignore the flurry of rumors—none of them true—about where he's been and who he's become.
Jennica Moss's last relationship ended badly, leaving her guarded and untrusting. She's new in town, but the local gossips have kept her informed about almost everything. The latest hot topic—Scott Sims, the area's most promising star, the guy who threw his football career away and disappeared for years.
When Scott and Jennica meet, emotions run high. Scott can't resist the urge to get to know her. But Jennica's past threatens to come between them, and Scott can't seem to shake his present. When he broke things off with his last fling, she didn't take it well, and she keeps showing up at the most inopportune moments, making his time with Jennica strained.
Now one, or both, of their lives may be at risk, and Jennica must face the consequences of giving in to her heart and falling in love with Scott.

Excerpt:
"Friend of yours?" Scott cut his eyes at her, a single brow raised as they stepped on the sidewalk in front of the Italian restaurant, heading in the direction of her parents' house.
Jennica shook her head even though he was a few steps in front of her and wouldn't see. He walked fast, still hanging on to her hand. He'd punched Troy right in the face. Taken up for her, something no one had ever done. Her heart swelled with appreciation, followed by an anxious panic racing through her veins. In a matter of minutes they would be at her childhood home. There hadn't been much time with him…not what she needed.
"Scott."
He didn't respond, just charged ahead. A man on a mission to drop her and her giant baggage off where he'd found them. A massive lump formed in her throat, blocking her words. She wanted to explain. Tell him about Troy and what he'd done. Let him know why she was so screwed up, but nothing came out.
She glanced at the house with a quick mental note that all the lights were out as he led her by the front walkway and through the manicured grass, not stopping until they were hidden from the streetlights under the carport. Once there, he released her hand and took a few steps, pausing at the edge of the light. The darkness kept her from seeing his expression, but his silhouette against the moonlit night sent thick surges of frenzied tension straight through her, making her chest feel caved.
"You didn't deserve…" he said, in almost a whisper. An angry one. "Is he the reason you think you're screwed up?"
She didn't answer. She didn't need to. He knew. She could tell it in his voice, see it in his stride as he moved toward her. Felt it in his touch as he cupped her face with his hands, lifting it so her tearful sight had no other choice but to look him straight on.
"You can't believe him. You're no one's trash." His eyes seemed to grow darker, pained, fixated on hers. Lost in them, she couldn't look away. Couldn't speak. "You are beautiful…so beautiful it hurts." He bent down, resting his forehead on hers. "I would do anything to have you."
She swallowed hard at the way he'd spoken, slow and determined, as if those words were a concentrated version of everything he'd ever wanted to say. And she understood why. Through all the confusion in her mind, the war with the tug in her chest, the burning need to touch him, she realized, she felt the same way. "Then have me."

He twisted his fingers in her hair and tilted her head back so he could gain access to her neck.
Yes, be rough.
She moved to straddle him. He stopped kissing her into look in her eyes, seeking permission. She nodded. “It’s been too long.”
He trailed his hands down the sides of her body and then quickly tugged her silk blouse from her skirt. She smiled as she lowered her lips to his sweet mouth and attacked with a force she didn’t know was possible. She’d waited years for this moment. They’d have time for slow later. She undid his tie and worked at the buttons of his shirt as she ground her hips against his hard cock.
“Gracie,” he whispered against her lips.
“Don’t think, Cade. Just do what you want, take what you want.” She moved from his lap and crawled to the armrest of the couch, arching her backside in the air and bracing for what was to come.
She heard him unbuckle his belt and lower the zipper. She jumped when his shoes hit the hardwood floor. The cushions sank under his weight as he joined her on the couch. He moved behind her and slipped his hand under her skirt.
“Fuck, Gracie.” He ran his palm over her bare ass.
“I left my panties in the car because I know how much you hate them.”

Lily couldn’t work. She logged into Facebook and lots of posts from her friends built on the page. She scrolled down. One of her friends was an avid collector of photographs, usually of gorgeous men. There were three pictures of almost naked and very beautiful men amongst the posts. Lily gazed at each. Her eyes followed the line of their shoulder muscles. She stared at their hard flat stomachs. One of them was wet and she almost longed to lick the drops of water from him. She let herself imagine it and then because the photograph showed the very bottom of his stomach and pubic hair, she thought about what it might be like to hold him. To trace her fingertips down the bones of his hips in that so tempting V-shape and then take his cock into her mouth and suck.
She forced her eyes away from the screen for just a few seconds. ‘Hell Lily you’re losing it gazing at this guy,’but she looked again, at his eyes and the day’s growth on his gorgeous jawline. She scrolled to the next photograph. Her friend had labeled it ‘sex unlimited’. She was right, this man was just perfect and Lily actually felt a throb of sexual need between her legs as she looked at the way the zip of his jeans revealed he was wearing nothing else, and the rip in the upper thigh almost showed his cock. Lily logged out and walked to the bathroom.

They lay on the bed, facing each other as the sun beamed down on their skin. Sharon smiled at Kyle’s crooked grin…so adorable. She reached up and raked her hand through his thick, disarrayed hair.
“I’ve never met anyone quite like you,” he said, rising to prop back on his elbows.
Sharon glanced around to the pool, the foliage, the outdoor canopy bed they were resting on, and the large, glass-walled house behind her. Of course he’d never met anyone like her…people with money didn’t cohort with factory workers or waitresses or people who worked two jobs just to make ends meet or people who’d never been to the ocean…
He broke off her thoughts. “Are you hungry?”
Sharon nodded. “I could eat.” The last thing she’d eaten was a couple of bites of pie at the diner, before that, she couldn’t remember.
Kyle smiled, leaned over to kiss her forehead, and rolled off the bed. “I make a mean hoagie. It won’t take long.” He slipped the cargos over his hips and buttoned them as he walked away.
Sharon laid on her back for a few seconds watching the linen curtains billow in the wind. The smell of chlorine filled the air. The faint sound of water splashing against the stone lined pool filled her ears. The most perfect man she’d ever met was on the other side of the wall fixing her a sandwich. Her chest swelled and she closed her eyes tight. It was too much.

A triumphant smile beamed from Kyle's lips. “So you’re staying.”
“I shouldn’t.”
“You want to.”
Sharon nibbled on the inside of her lip. He didn’t know how right he was. His fingers gave hers a quick squeeze, and he dropped his hands, stepping back. She winced at the unsettling feeling in her stomach caused by his separation, and magnetically followed him across the room and through a set of double doors.
She pulled her gaze from him and examined the bathroom. The shower was huge, a walk-in with showerheads randomly scattered across the walls and a built-in stone bench along the back wall. Sharon had never seen anything like it and it must have showed because Kyle gave a low chuckle and said, “Use it if you want. You can choose which showerheads you want to spray. But it’s late…or early. You’re probably tired, so—”
“I’m not tired,” she interrupted, slipping the lace camisole over her head and dropping it on the floor. “Will you turn on the water?”
Kyle paused for a second, taking her in. “Which ones do you want on?”
She kicked off her flats and slipped the skirt over her legs. “All of them. And hot, I like it hot.”

Chancie groaned in frustration at her inability to relax and stop worrying every detail of her life. Imagining herself as some Scarlett O’Hara figure and Micah Taylor as Rhett Butler was pointless, and probably self-defeating. No man could live up to a digital Hollywood hero. Instead of soothing, this little exercise had aroused her. Her skin felt sensitized, electric. Her nipples stood in hard peaks that hurt inside the confinement of her bra. The pit of her stomach ached, and lower still she pulsed with emptiness between her legs.
If she didn’t stop, she’d throw herself on Micah Taylor the moment she saw him again. Tear his clothes off in the parking lot of the Inn and beg for release from this torment right then and there.
She ripped the now limp and soggy cucumber rounds from her eyes and sat up. She needed a hot bath. Or a cold shower.
She padded to the bathroom again and turned on the tap. She couldn’t bring herself to actually step into the icy spray, so she compromised with a warm shower. She washed her hair, shaved her legs, and then stood in the spray until the water began to run cold.
She toweled dry, rubbed all over with scented lotion, and dusted herself with bath powder. Then she returned to her bedroom, opened the top drawer in the dresser, and stood debating.
Satin, lacy, cotton, plain.
What difference did it make what she wore?

Gina caught sight of the man sitting on the bed as she surveyed the room. He was a big guy and handsome. She didn’t want to look in his direction, damn he was hot. There was no mistaking Marco was ripped under the clothing he wore.
Gina gave the last of her orders to the five Inspectors under her command and slammed the door behind them.
“Don’t forget housekeeping, this place is a fucking pig sty,” she yelled after them. When she turned she hit a wall of muscle, Marco Natalia stood in her face.
Gina hadn’t expected him to be so tall. He towered over her, heels and all. Gina had seen plenty of photographs of him. He’d been in the newspapers countless times and not one photo did him any justice. She could tell by the way he moved and held her eyes he was well aware of the effect he had on the opposite sex. She hadn’t expected him to be so bold. He was standing too close for comfort.
“Mr. Natalia please get out of my face.”
“What, you don’t like my face?”
“Don’t be an idiot. I’m a U. S. Marshal. I can whip your ass. So please go sit down,” she said. He was close enough for her to smell, it was no doubt expensive aftershave, soap and was that pizza-sauce.
“Yes, ma’am, whatever you say. But you never answered me, what’s wrong with my face?”
“Nothing. Please sit down.” She had to smile. He was good. He was cute, damn sexy and she had to keep her distance. It had been a while since she’d had sex because her job left her little time for any kind of personal life. He really was unnerving her, she found him excessively physically attractive.
“Okay, I’ll sit. Are you going to do something about this place? This is a real shit hole. This is not my usual milieu, Inspector McCarthy. I’m actually a gentleman, but I can get down and dirty to fit the occasion.” He smiled broadly at her, displaying an amazing set of dimples.
Shit, she thought, he’s really good. “Mr. Natalia it costs the government a great deal of money to house you. Please accept my apologies…” Gina stopped. She saw the tip of a phone peeking out from the inside of his expensive suit jacket.
“What the fuck, you have a phone? Are you crazy? Give me that phone!” she yelled coming at him.
“I didn’t use the damn phone. The phone’s new. I figured the government wasn’t going to drop five or six hundred bucks for an IPhone so it’s the last thing I bought before I kissed my bank accounts good bye.”
Gina wanted to smack him silly. That need dissipated as she realized she was close, too close to him. Her anger ebbed replaced by a slight knotting in her belly. He was so close she could feel his was warm breath on her face and that’s when he grabbed her taking her by surprise.
Gina was trapped. She never figured he’d be stupid enough to try anything with her. She was wrong, so very wrong. What upset Gina even more was she didn’t want him to stop. Her strong protests ceased as she pushed at him weakly letting his soft lips take a slow easy sensual possession of hers.

Lance got out of the pool, grabbed a towel, and dried himself. Van finally got up enough nerve to ask him about what was weighing on her mind. She sat up in the lounge chair and took a deep breath. “Lance, can I ask you a question?”

 “You can ask me anything.”

She decided it was best to be straightforward. “I was wondering how many women you’ve been with. I’m not jealous or anything, I was just wondering where all your naughty, sexual ideas came from.”

“Do you feel I push you too hard to try new things? Because please, tell me if anything I do makes you uncomfortable.”

“No, I don’t feel that way.”

He dropped his towel and stalked toward her like a lion about to pounce on his prey, sending lightning bolts of arousal through her.

“Don’t move,” he commanded as he straddled the lounger to sit behind her. Lance pulled her body against his and placed his hand just under her bikini top, causing her body to shudder. “Do you like the things I say and do to you, Savannah?” he whispered into her ear as he slowly pushed up the scrap of material holding her breasts hostage and palmed her tits.

Van closed her eyes and saw stars behind her lids as he pinched her nipples while exploring her neck with his mouth. “I love what you do to me,” she replied between labored breaths.

Spotlight... Hijacked by Sidda Lee Tate

Will an unexpected encounter leave Sharon's heart hijacked?

When Sharon Blake meets Kyle Phillips her first instinct is to simply seek the pleasure she's certain he can give her. But surprisingly, she feels a strong connection with him, something she's never experienced before, and that conflicts with everything she's always believed—sex is sex and nothing more.

The last woman Kyle trusted with his heart betrayed him, and he has no interest in getting involved with anyone. There's only one problem—now that he's met Sharon, he craves her touch, her laughter, the look in her eyes when he pulls her near.

Kyle and Sharon soon realize that being apart isn't an option. Someone else, though, has different plans for Kyle, and Sharon is left questioning everything he's told her. Kyle tries to explain, to make things right again, but Sharon doesn't know if she can trust him, and her instinct is to walk away now before her heart is bruised even further.

Content Warning: strong language and graphic sex

Excerpt:

The small blonde waitress placed a third beer on the table in front of him. Her breasts were at eye level, nipples looking tight as stones poked at the thin material of her top. The first time Kyle saw her behind the bar he knew she would be hard to forget. Lucky for him, she was his server.

"Two-fifty," she said, smiling. "Are you gonna drink those?" She pointed to the full bottles in front of him.

"Waiting for some friends. Check back with me in a few minutes." He handed her a five dollar bill. "Keep the change."

"Thanks." Her chest swelled, perfect mounds inches from his face. The light blue v-neck, lace top she wore was held up by thin straps. It was cut low, giving him a peek at what lie beneath. As she turned and sauntered to the bar, he couldn't help but stare.

She propped her elbows on the countertop and leaned over. Her round butt in the air had him practically salivating, and no matter how hard he tried, his eyes would only divert for a second before finding their way back to her.

He watched as the bartender handed her a shot and she tossed it back. As if she sensed him gawking, the waitress turned her head, propping her chin on her shoulder, and grinned.

Leaving the bar, she walked straight over to him, taking a seat in the chair next to his as though it were hers all along. "Why are you watching me?" she asked matter-of-factly, which made him cough in surprise. Was it that obvious? "You ordered at the bar first, right?"

"I…um," he stuttered and gave up on an explanation.

She smiled again, most likely at catching him off guard. He decided drinking the beer in front of him wouldn't be a bad idea and grabbed one of the bottles, chugged half, and sat it down. He eyed her with curiosity and pressed his sweating palms against his jeans.

Say something! "How long have you been here?"

She arched her left eyebrow. "You mean as in, tonight?"

"Working here, as in days, weeks, months, years."

"A few weeks." She crossed one leg over the other, hiking the already short, black skirt up her thigh, exposing more of her silky skin. Her eyes narrowed. "I'm on my break."

"And you chose to spend it with me?"

She shrugged her right shoulder and picked up a pack of cigarettes from the table he hadn't noticed her put there when she sat. She lit one, the flame from the lighter making it possible for him to notice her eyes had a green tint to them. "Your table is empty."

He playfully scoffed, amused at her excuse. There were at least six unoccupied tables in the room. "When does the band start?"

She looked down at her watch. Silver with rhinestones, it fit loose like a bracelet. "In about an hour. They start at ten. What's your name?"

He drank another quarter of the beer. "Kyle Phillips. You?"

"Sharon Blake." She reached up and pulled her long hair from the back of her neck and let it fall. "Is this your first time here? I've never seen you around. Are you from Pineville?"

Kyle cleared his throat. She was making observations, asking questions. He'd been divorced for three months, but this was his first time at a bar since meeting his ex-wife nine years ago, and he wasn't certain if he should explain his situation—a fresh divorcĂ©. He decided to go with direct answers. "I live about three miles outside of town. And no, I don't get out much."

"Huh." She tugged on the cigarette and then snuffed the rest of it out in an ashtray at the center of the table. "I'm trying to quit."

"Six years smoke free for me. It was one of the hardest things I've done."

She eyed him carefully. "Are you meeting someone?"

"A friend. He should be here any time." Kyle peeled his gaze from her and scanned the growing crowd through the dimly lit room, suddenly hoping his friend didn't show for a while. He gulped more beer. "How long are you on break?"

"I've got a few minutes." Her eyes moved over him and he wondered how evident it was that he wanted to taste her skin. "Why do you ask?"

"I thought I might get you something to drink. But then, if you work here—"
