Dagney Night, a sought-after succubus, is no stranger to blazing hot sex. But as Valentine’s Day approaches, she longs for something more. When oddly erotic paintings arrive for display at her art gallery, arousing everyone who views them, she wonders about the mysterious artist who created the works.
Maxwell Raines, a fire-sex demon, lives a life of solitude and seclusion behind the walls of his compound at Sleepy Hollow, channeling his lustful impulses into his art—until his muse deserts him and his temperature rises past the danger point. He needs sex. Now.
When Madame Evangeline arranges a torrid Valentine’s 1Night Stand for them, will the flames of their encounter be too hot to handle?
EXCERPT:
Dagney followed her sister’s glance, and her heart flipped like a gymnast unable to nail a vault. Darkness swathed the gallery with the exception of the lights above or below each of the paintings. The large man emerging from the shadows held her rapt. Waves of pure, unadulterated lust smacked her with such force she didn’t even see Lily and Campbell leave. The blast of raw desire crumpled her to the floor. Her gaze remained riveted on the tall hunk of ferocious male stalking toward her, radiating undiluted carnality. He set something carefully on the floor and grasped her by the elbows, his touch surprisingly gentle when he lifted her to her feet.
“I’m Maxwell Raines.”
Yeah. No kidding. Who else could a guy so hot, so studly, possibly be?
She told herself not to swoon. Ordered herself not to swoon. But, Goddess, that rumbling voice. More potent than a train barreling over the tracks. And he smelled so good. Sinfully masculine. A bit of musk, a bite of pine, an essence of dark, smoky nights. Sexy scents. Reminiscent of tangled satin sheets that had been given a good work-out.
Her legs turned to rubber, and she doubted they’d support her on their own. She’d be mortified if he’d have to scrape her puddled body up again. But he hadn’t yet relaxed his grip. Could she bullshit her way through the meeting without collapsing? “You’re late,” she said.
“I’m never late.”
“Well, the party’s over, Mr. Raines.” She waved a hand around the empty room.
“Depends on your perspective.”
“You’re big on perspective, are you?”
“I’m a painter.” A brief shrug accompanied his blunt words. “Obvious connection.”
“Right. But as you can see, everyone’s left.”
“You haven’t.” He gazed down at her, a black brow flaring. “And you’re what I’m here for.”

"I’ll give you a protein shake.” Grey waggled his eyebrows and Steele frowned.
“What does that mean? You’re going to make it for me? You know I prefer it when Greta, your overworked housemaid, does it since I’m totally hopeless in the kitchen.”

“No, Steele. It means there’s protein in my cum, and if you suck my cock and swallow when I cum into your mouth you’ll get a nice shot of it.” Grey’s lips twitched. “But don’t worry, darling. I’ll fuck you good right after that. I won’t leave you wanting. I still have plenty of cum and energy.”

“I’m not sure I do,” Steele mumbled.

“You’re twenty-two, you’ll recover. Now I want you to get on your knees in front of me. I’ll show you what to do.” Grey opened his pants, pulling out his turgid cock, and Steele licked her lips as he fondled and gobbled it like an old friend. “That’s it, baby. Show me how much you want my dick in your mouth.”

“Oh, I do,” she purred.

Slut, Devil Goddess retorted.

She’s just supporting her man, Angel Goddess replied in a snit.

“Then do it. Don’t make me take you into the playroom again. Those two whacks I gave your jeans-clad ass with my paddle will double if you don’t behave.”

“Don’t scare me, Grey! Four strokes?!?”

Steele moved toward him, afraid what four strokes, even over her panties and jeans, would feel like.

Tease Us Thursday... #teaseusthursday

Cissy uncuffed him and he rolled onto his side. “Holy shit, baby, you killed me.”

With as much nonchalance as she could muster, she answered,“It looked like you were into not having control.”

He wouldn’t meet her eyes. “Maybe.”

Good enough for me.

With a little smack to his ass that she just couldn’t resist, she said, “I’m gonna go take a shower.” He grunted, whether from the blow or the lingering effects of his orgasm she didn’t know, and Cissy walked into the bathroom, thinking how different the end of this night was than the previous night. As she stood under the hot spray, she thought about the encounter and what she should do now. Cissy knew some of the women used sex as a reward and decided to go that route.

When she came back into the bedroom, Len was propped up, flipping through channels on the small television on his dresser. Without taking his eyes from the screen, he asked, “Feel better?”

“Yes, much. I’d like to talk to you about something. Can you put the remote down?” He lowered it to his lap. “I think we should discuss some things, like how you don’t help around the house enough.” She put up her hand when he started to argue. “I’ve come up with a solution I think you’ll like.”

“Okay…” His voice betrayed his suspicions.

Melissa Kendall

Stupid men—So easy to entice.

Constance, originally a shy farm girl from a poor Midwest family, had been a vampire for over a hundred years. Abandoned by her sire, and with little knowledge of her true nature, it didn’t take her long to work out that she could use her body to lure in a meal.

Even a century later, men flocked around her when she shook a little tit and ass in their direction. Thankful for modern morals, she could be much more up front about her intentions, than the clandestine, secretive life which she used to endure.

Tonight’s all too willing victim, a douche bag named Blake, was a prime example. Too stupid to even remove his wedding ring, when soliciting another woman for sex.

Connie only had to flash him a little skin to get his instant attention.

“What you doing later?” he asked while slipping a fifty into her thong.

“You,” she replied in her most seductive tone.

“Damn right.” He adjusted the nearly invisible bulge in his pants. “What time do you get off?”

“Well, that depends on how good your skills are.” She chuckled. “But I finish work in like—thirty minutes.”

“Oh, I’ve got the skills,” he boasted. “Meet me outside when you finish and I’ll give you a firsthand display.”

She tried not to laugh aloud at the pathetic human. If her need to feed hadn’t become dire, she wouldn’t have even bothered with this loser.

Lauren shook her head and went searching in her handbag for a tissue. Blotting her eyes and wiping her nose, she finally sobbed, “I feel like I don’t even know Sherry anymore.”
Wes gripped the back of her headrest, wishing he could stroke her hair instead. “Sure you do.”
“I didn’t know any of her friends. I’ve been replaced. It’s like we’re strangers. I’ve missed so much.”
Now he understood. “Do you care about Sherry?”
“Yes,” said Lauren without hesitation.
“Then you have to make the effort to repair the friendship. Just because Sherry has new friends doesn’t mean she doesn’t want you in her life too. You have to reestablish your connection, that’s all. It isn’t going to happen overnight or even in two short hours. What did you expect?”
She threw up her hands. “I don’t know.”
He’d never seen a more forlorn expression in his life. The tears clinging to Lauren’s lashes were too much for him. Expelling a deep sigh, Wes cupped the back of her neck and pulled her in. His kiss was soft, compassionate, and infinitely tender. The wet tissue in Lauren’s hand flattened out against his shirt and he felt the moisture leech through the light cotton, dampening his skin underneath. He didn’t give a damn.
The timing was wrong, all wrong, and yet he couldn’t help himself. The need to be close to her, comfort and caress her, was almost unbearable. In his mind he’d held back long enough. Now it was up to her. If Lauren pulled away or asked him to stop he would.
She clutched his shirt instead.

“Will you allow me to buy you dinner?”
“Dinner?”
“Yes. I just won this event and I want to celebrate with a beautiful woman.”
Whereas a line like that would’ve worked on many Italian women and most of the buckle bunnies he normally encountered on tour, Natalie shook her head. “Look, I don’t want you to get the wrong idea. I’m not here hoping to find a boyfriend.”
Boyfriend? I only asked her to dinner.
“That is good, because I am not in search of a girlfriend.”
“I’m also not interested in a one-night stand, so if that’s what you’re after—”
“I am sorry, did I offend you?”
Natalie sighed and Marco watched as she chewed on her lip for a minute. He could think of far better ways to make her mouth look abused, but figured given her recent statements she wouldn’t handle his flirting well, so he stayed quiet.
“You didn’t offend me. I’m here to work.”
“You work for the tour?”
“No.”
“A reporter?”
“No. I’m following the tour for a couple of weeks. I’m interested in learning about bull riding so I can try out for the female tour. It’s just, I don’t want to give you the wrong impression. I’m here to watch, listen and learn.”
“Then have dinner with me. You can quiz me.” When she looked doubtful he added, “I will be a perfect gentlemen.” He turned the full force of the smile his parents had spent a fortune in dental work on and her eyes softened.

“I’m making a wonderful Italian egg drop soup. You’ll love it. I promise.”

“I don’t think so.” He crinkled his nose. “Can’t you put something else in it?”

“Um, no, the recipe calls for spinach.” She picked a bundle of the vegetable. “We need it.”

He shook his head. “I’m not eating it.”

“Hey, my kitchen, my rules.” She pushed the spinach into his hand. “Now put that in the cart.”

“Are you telling me what to do?”

“Yes,” she defiantly told him. “What are you going to do about it?”

She wants to play. Ever since that night on the couch, the sex had been different between them. It had become more sensual. They were learning one another. Making love with Elyse had been a defining moment in their relationship and while sex might have been tamer than what Logan was used to, it was still pretty hot. But, maybe his little chef missed the kink.

When he tossed the spinach in the cart, he caught Cora watching them. He wondered how long she’d been standing there. She nodded at him before disappearing down another aisle. Elyse picked out her potatoes, never acknowledging Cora’s presence.

Logan came up from behind her and whispered into her ear. “To answer your question, I have a riding crop with your name on it.” He nipped her earlobe. “I’m going to use it tonight, my feisty girl.”

My bedroom, my rules.

She looked over her shoulder, staring up at him with wide eyes.

“No turning back now, cupcake. You started this game.”

Tease Us Thursday... Holiday Edition...

Looking for a sexy romance to heat up your eReader tonight? Perhaps Santa left you a new Kindle and it is just waiting for you to load some fantastic books. My favorite thing to do this week is read holiday romances. I try to indulge in a new one every night during this festive time. Here's a few you might like to try...

When Mother Nature hit with the snow storm of the century. Bram Tyler and Roxanne Murdoch were trapped together for the last three days of the year. Nothing sexy to eat in the vending machines. But 'shared bodily warmth' proved quite filling!
“Bram, please…” The palms that pressed into his biceps had meant to push him away and restore her freedom. Instead, Roxanne found her hands ached to explore his firm, athletic body, her fingers intrigued by the sinewy muscles in his shoulders and back.
“Mmmm…I was wrong,” he breathed, nuzzling his face between the soft pillows of her full breasts, “having you touch me is so much more gratifying than just looking at you.” His mouth hungered for hers, swooping to capture and savor her lips. His purposeful tongue gained easy access into the honeyed sweetness beyond and discovered an ardent mate.
Roxanne couldn’t seem to get close enough to him. Her fingers splayed through his thick hair, demanding that his mouth not break contact with hers. His excitement fed her own, releasing a wild, abandoned side that she had never known. Where their bodies touched, at the shoulders, hips, and thighs, heat raged. Blood percolated in her veins, making her feel like she’d been infused with fire.
Bram finally relinquished her mouth, his lips roaming along the curve of her cheekbone to her ear. “Our bodies fit together like pieces of a puzzle.” His hand strayed unhindered down her stomach until his fingers encountered the elastic band of her briefs.

A smorgasbord of feelings whirled through Cassius' mind. First, disbelief that this brunette beauty was single. Second, delight that she was: now he just had to summon up the courage to ask her out. Third, a feeling of awkwardness that she'd mentioned his boss. Somehow it felt too close to home, though he knew she was only making a joke. Santa only delivered presents to children. Though if it was up to him, he'd give Carina anything she wanted, for Christmas and otherwise.

"I know the feeling." He gave a small smile and apologetic shrug before walking hastily into the kitchen. If he'd stood there much longer, he would have opened his mouth and said something stupid. And as much as he fancied her, he wasn't going to win any affection from her by blurting out something idiotic.

No, he'd keep his cool and ask her out properly when he went back into the living room. He grinned. He may have been lamenting the fact that he never received anything through the post aside from bills and junk mail, but right at this moment in time, he didn't mind. Whatever it was that Simon had ordered couldn't beat what Cassius had received—a totally hot, single woman in his living room. One he had every intention of dating—if she wanted him.

“Hey Mrs. Moody cheer up.” His sweatpants were warm and unthreatening as I put a hand on his knee and he leaned across me with an arm that was strong and capable, but so unlike Dane’s obvious muscles, and tapped the very tip of my nose. He was lean and almost delicate, nothing to spare, his warm chest against me so that I could hear his heart thrumming in my ear. Yet he was so comfortable, familiar and safe.
“I’m fine.” I don’t know why it had hit me like this now, Charlie’s had always been a stop gap, but maybe it was just the time of year, or the fact I’d suddenly realized how much I liked his company, or maybe it was Dane and Sophie and an evening that had left me wanting so much more.
“I’m not sure I want you to go.” His breath was gentle against the top of my head, then he rubbed his chin gently backwards and forwards, the soft movement stirring something deep inside my stomach.
“Really?”
“I’d miss you.” His long fingers brushed the side of my face lightly, his fingers tangling with my hair and I held my breath. I didn’t know what to say, and I didn’t want to say anything that would stop him talking. I just wanted him to carry on talking, carry on holding me, carry on making me feel safe and wanted.
“I’d miss you too, Charlie.”
“No.” He spiraled the lock of my hair tighter around his finger until it tugged at my scalp, at something a bit deeper inside. “I’d really miss you.”

Sam Cheever

She stood there, trembling as the world continued to function around her. Down the hall a baby cried. Outside the window at the end of the hallway, a car horn honked and someone shouted a greeting. And inside her apartment, a demon read her life like the lines on the palm of her hand.

Amanda wanted to cry. But more than that she wanted to kick herself in the ass. She’d lived her life afraid, careful, and as pure as she could be. And what had happened to her in the end? She’d almost been raped by a man she’d trusted and had murdered a man crossing the street, killing herself in the process. And now she was headed for Hell.

She was sick of being timid. She was sick to death of being passive. It was time she reached out and took what she wanted from life… what was left of it. And first on that list was finding out what it felt like to make love to a man.

Amanda took one step, and then another, and suddenly found herself hurrying into her apartment, slamming the door closed behind her. “Damian, I want you to make love to me.”
He was standing in the door to her bedroom, a wide smile on his impossibly handsome face, holding a twig of mistletoe over his head. “I thought you’d never ask.”

“She’s a pretty one,” Jack remarked, and Ryan followed his gaze. He nearly swallowed his can of soda pop whole. Pretty didn’t begin to describe the woman. She was a few inches shorter than him, from what he could tell in his current position, and had enough meat on her bones to be curvy. If he was going to be tying a woman up and fucking the hell out of her, he wanted to be sure her ribs wouldn’t crack at the slightest provocation.

Her long brown hair was piled on top of her head, leaving the slim column of her neck exposed. Ryan loved to nibble on women’s necks, and if he had this one restrained, he’d happily spend hours torturing her in that spot. She was wearing what looked like a harem girl outfit, with a jeweled bra and flouncy, gauzy pants. From the looks of things, Ryan was pretty sure she was naked underneath them.

He was just about to rise and make his way back to the bar when he caught movement out of the corner of his eye. The submissive Callie had called Lisette knelt directly in front of him, a bottle of water laid on her upturned palms. Ryan raised an eyebrow.

Service Ace by Cassandra Carr
Callum Giovanni's professional tennis career is over. Up to the Hilt by Cynthia Carr

Excerpt for Service Ace by Cassandra Carr
Cal and Adriana enjoyed a fun dinner, their flirting progressing as the meal went on. She needed to make her move, especially since Cal seemed to share her interest. He paid for the meal and they left.

Once at the car, he handed her in and then got in the other side. Now or never. She reached over the center console and palmed his cock.

“Shite!” He looked over, his eyes wide.

“Look, I’m not normally this forward, but I want you.” Unable to hide a small smile as his cock swelled in her hand, she looked away. “Well, for more than your tennis expertise.”

“Are you sure?”

“Do you often have women who don’t want you for sex stroking your dick?”

“I don’t often have women stroking my dick for any reason.”

She faced him. “Really?”

“Really.” He swallowed.

“I guess it’s both of our lucky days then.”

Cassandra Carr Guest Post

I'm thrilled to welcome Cassandra Carr to the blog today.

My road to publication

One question I get asked a lot is, “How did you come to be published?”. Everyone has a different road, and I was extraordinarily lucky that mine wasn’t as long as some others’ have been. I started writing seriously in 2008. I wrote a contemporary romance titled Should’ve Known Better and started shopping it to agents and editors. I attended a conference in Connecticut (the CT Fiction Fest – highly recommended) and met some more agents and editors, some of whom expressed interest in my novel.

After a while, though, as a writer you need to move on. So while I continued to shop Should’ve Known Better, I began another book. This one was started in July 2009 and was an erotic romance. I titled it Talk to Me, and that book was my first sale! I actually wrote much of the first draft over a three-day writing retreat in early August 2009. I went back to CT Fiction Fest in April 2010, but still wasn’t ready to submit Talk to Me, so I pitched Should’ve Known Better then too. I got some more interest, and I continued to work on Talk to Me.

A writer friend of mine, Miranda Baker (hi Miranda!) read Talk to Me and suggested some fairly major changes. I pored over the changes in my mind for a little while and made those I felt comfortable with.  In late September 2010 I submitted Talk to Me to a couple of publishers. I also continued to query agents.
In October 2010 Loose Id contacted me, asking for my full manuscript. I sent it, and in early November Loose Id contacted me again, offering me a contract. I jumped up and down and hyperventilated, and then told Loose Id I had to let the other publishers know about my contract. This is accepted and even expected in the publishing world, and they were fine with it. In the end, I stayed with Loose Id, and Talk to Me was published on March 22, 2011.

Since then I've sold Head Games (which is the first in the Buffalo Intimidator series) to Siren Bookstrand, another story to Loose Id which is titled Caught, and Impact, a bull rider story, sold to Ellora's Cave. I've also sold a couple of short stories in there and expect to sell book 2 in the Buffalo Intimidators series imminently.

I never did statistics about how many agents and editors I sent the manuscript to – there are only a few that are important to know, most notably Loose Id, who bought the book.

What questions do you have about the process of getting published? Ask them below and I’ll do the best I can to answer them!

Cassandra Carr is a multi-published erotic romance writer who lives in Western New York with her husband, Inspiration, and her daughter, Too Cute for Words. When not writing she enjoys watching hockey and hanging out on Twitter. Her debut novel, Talk to Me, was released by Loose Id on March 22, 2011. Head Games, Buffalo Intimidators book 1, released on November 2, 2011 from Siren Bookstrand, Caught will release December 13, 2011 from Loose Id, and Impact is coming in early 2012 from Ellora's Cave.
