The next evening, Rosa stopped by the smoothie hut and ordered a Mango flavored drink.
"Hey, Rosa," Stella, the owner said. "How are you adjusting to beach life?"
"It's very nice."
At first, Rosa was resentful she'd listened to her parents and came to the quaint town. But now that she was here, it was growing on her. She'd worked hard the past four years at Princeton, so the break was nice. Although she'd never admit that to her parents.
"I saw you on the beach last night." Stella wiped down the counters. "Was that Logan Collins you were with?"
"Yeah, he lives a few houses down from me."
"Do you know him well?"
"Just met him last night. I think my father is trying to set us up."
"I don’t think your dad would set you up with someone like him."
"Why not? He looks like a nice guy. He's successful, rich and sexy." As a matter of fact, Rosa couldn't stop thinking about his muscular body, thick dark hair and strong hands all night.
"I don’t like to spread rumors, but I know something firsthand about Logan you might want to know before you get too involved."
"What is it?" Rosa couldn't imagine what Stella would know about Logan, but her interest was more than piqued.
"My cousin travels in the same circles Logan does. She doesn't usually talk about her lifestyle, but she doesn't hide it either. We grew up together, I know a lot about her."
"She's into BDSM."
"Like getting tied up?"
"That's part of it." Stella looked nervous but she continued. "There's a club about twenty minutes from here. It's secluded and very private. I went with my cousin once and Logan was there."
"A fetish club?"
"Well, maybe he was a guest like you."
"I don’t think so," she said. "He was dominating a girl. It was totally consensual but she was his submissive and he made her do things."
"What kind of things?"
"I'm not really supposed to discuss anything. My cousin would kill me if she knew I named names. But you seem like a nice girl and I thought you'd want to know. Not that there's anything wrong with being a Dom or a sub, but if you’re not into that sort of thing, well, I just thought you'd want to know."
"Thanks." Rosa glanced down at the beach. She hadn't intended on seeking out Logan tonight, but her conversation with Stella changed that.
Rosa strolled down the beach and as she had hoped, Logan and Calvin were sitting just at the bottom of the path that led to the street where their houses were located.
He looked up at her and smiled. "Hello, Princess."
"Waiting for me?" Her stomach fluttered and her insides tingled. The more she thought about what Stella told her, the more she wanted to get to know him.
Calvin hopped up and rested his paws on her shoulders.
"Calvin missed you." He laughed. "He likes you."
Rosa patted his head and then guided him off her. "Can I sit with you?"
"Of course." He motioned for her to take a sit next to him, and then Calvin cuddled in between them, placing his head on Rosa's knees.
Rosa looked down and smiled at the dog. He wasn't that bad, he'd just taken her by surprise the night before. Her breath caught in her throat when Logan moved closer and began stroking Calvin's head. Logan's fingers were inches from her hot and desperate center. She wondered what it would feel like if he stroked her between her legs.
"Looks like my dog has a crush."
He's not the only one.
"I think we got off on the wrong foot yesterday. I was hoping to see you tonight so I could apologize for my rude behavior."
"You don't have to apologize. I wasn't as polite as I could've been."
"You're upset with your parents."
"A little," she said. "I know I have a good life, but they need to let me make my own choices."
"I agree." He moved his hand from Calvin's head and rested it on her thigh. "Maybe I can help you get through this dreadful summer."
"I think I'd like that."
"Good." He tucked her hair behind her ear as he leaned close to her face. She could feel his warm breath on her lips. "I'll make it a summer you'll never forget."
