I don't practice the lifestyle, but I admit it intrigues me. When I read my very first BDSM romance I was hooked. So much so, that I started researching the lifestyle like crazy. I couldn't get the images of those strong, sexy domineering characters I could create out of my head. I like my romance heros to be dominant, take-charge and in control. For me, blending elements of BDSM into my story was a win, win. I could create an alpha in the bedroom, but find the way to his heart.

I have several titles in the BDSM genre (Be My Everything, The Lonely Dominant and Make Me Stay). With each one I write I'm learning to balance the BDSM lifestyle into a relationship that is  both captivating and totally hawt! The possibilities are endless.

I broke the kiss and gently stroked her hair. "Thank you for letting me be the first to bring you that pleasure. You don't know how it pleases me."

I continued to stare at her for a few moments, occasionally placing a soft kiss on her lips.

"I want to please you," she said. "I can't explain it, but I have these urges to make you happy."

"What do you mean?" I said, figuring we might as well put it all on the table.

"Ever since I met you, there's just been something about you. It's the way you act, and you always seem to have control over everything. It's really sexy."

I smirked, because she got me completely.

"When I hear you on the phone for work, you just say what needs to be done. You never ask, and you always get results. There are times when I think I want you to talk to me that way. Is there something wrong with me? I can't even believe I'm telling you this."

I laughed, because if there was something wrong with her, then I was certainly a head case.

"Clara," I picked up her shirt from the floor and handed it to her, "there's nothing wrong with you. I think there's a very specific reason we're drawn to one another."

"Why?"

"Do you know what a Dominant is?" Why waste time?

I was never the type to beat around the bush. When I wanted something, I put it out there. This was no different. She may not have realized it, but she was attracted to me because she was submissive. Exactly how submissive? I wasn't sure, but I hoped to find out.

She quickly put her blouse back on and buttoned it up. We'd have to work on her modesty, too. I planned to have her naked quite a bit.

"I think so," she said. "It's when a person takes on the dominant role in a sexual relationship."

I smiled. "Yes, that's part of it, but it's also the Dom's responsibility to teach and help his submissive reach pleasure beyond her wildest dreams. It's a mutually beneficial relationship between two consenting adults."

"Alec, are you dominant?"

"In almost every aspect of my life, especially in the bedroom."

"Actually," she said, and the blush took over her face again. "It kind of intrigues me."

"Really?"

She nodded.

"Do you know anything about that type of relationship?" I pulled her closer to me. She was so soft and warm, and I couldn't keep my hands off her. I'd touch her all day if I could.

"Not firsthand, obviously." She traced my lips with her fingertip. I liked when she touched me unprovoked. "I had a human sexuality course last semester and we discussed dominant and submissive behaviors, and I realized I could be a submissive. Not extremely submissive. I mean, I don't think I could be someone's slave, or do it twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, but I found it a turn-on."

Is this really happening?

"The more I learned about the subject, the more I realized I wanted to be dominated," she said. "But, it wasn't something I thought I could explore. I wouldn't even know how to go about it."

Surreal was the only way to describe what was happening here. Anytime I'd engaged in this behavior, I'd had to seek out my subs as discreetly as possible. I would go through friends I knew in the community to find a woman who was into the same things I was. I'd always had difficulty finding someone who was only interested in light play. Most subs were looking for long-term, hard play, and as secure as I was, I just wasn't into beating or humiliating anyone. I also liked having the power of being able to play when I wanted to.

"I'm not a hard-core Dom. I've dabbled, but I've never collared a sub, and I've never been in a relationship with one before. I enjoy the lifestyle, but I did it only with a willing partner, and only for brief periods of time. We both took what we needed from the experience, and then we mutually parted ways."

She looked disappointed by my response. Maybe she thought I was more involved in the lifestyle?

"It's a very satisfying experience when both participants are open and honest about their wants and desires. The pleasures I've gained through my past experiences were like none I'd ever experienced before."

"I'd like to try it," she said. "I want to submit to you."

"You're so young." Her age didn't bother me. Rather, I knew she was so inexperienced when it came to sex and relationships. I wasn't certain she could make this kind of decision. "I'd need you to be absolutely sure."

"You said it was consensual. I wouldn't have to do anything I didn't want to, and if I remember correctly, there are safe words we could use."

"I think you know more than you're letting on." I arched a brow at her, but I was impressed by her openness. I was surprised she had the courage to press the matter.

"I may have researched the subject a couple of times."

"You're right about safe words. They are set up to protect not only your physical boundaries, but your emotional limits as well. I would push your limits, but only to show you how much pleasure you could gain. I couldn't do this 24/7 either. We'd have to come up with some sort of agreement, since we live under the same roof." Are we really entertaining this?

"Weekends?" She shrugged. "Maybe we could try it out?"

I smiled and gently kissed her lips. "Yes, I think weekends would work perfectly."

The Lonely Dominant - Available Tomorrow!!!

I could stare at that cover all day. Oops, am I live?

Forgive me! I'm a little excited. Well, a lot more than a little. lol  The Lonely Dominant is releasing tomorrow. You have no idea how long I've waited for this one. Don't worry, I'm about to tell you.

About two years ago, I stumbled onto a big name Romance Paperback publisher's website and saw they were taking submissions for a brand new short (5-10K), erotic line they were launching for ePublication. I had no experience with eBooks. I'd never even read one back then, but the idea intrigued me. I saved the link to my favorites and tucked it somewhere in the back of my mind, saving it for a snowy day. In the winter of 2010, NJ was hit with its snowiest winter on record. We had storms we'd never seen before with snow amounts hitting crazy totals. I was also hit with the H1N1 virus. It attacked my lungs pretty severely and I ended up really sick.  It took me months to recover. Between being snowed in and laid up with flu, I had time to focus on writing.

And focus, I did. I worked on that little story every chance I got and was finally able to submit it by June. As I'd said, I had never done this sort of thing before and I really didn't know what to expect. As soon as I hit send, I received an auto email from the publisher confirming they'd received my work and it would take about six months to get an answer. Six months? Whoa! So, I went about my business of raising my kids and dealing with RL issues. I never thought to research other places or write anything else. I had absolutely no idea what was behind Door Number 2. I thought the big name publisher was the only one accepting eBook submissions. Boy, did I have tons of research ahead of me.

Once the kids were back in school that fall, I began poking around on the Internet and guess what I found? lol There were lots of options for an aspiring author. An aspiring author? Me? Really? I got serious and started putting the pen to the paper.  Writing, editing, rewriting and submitting. New story ideas came to fruition and right around the time I'd submitted Jocelyn's Choice, I received a rejection letter for The Lonely Dominant.

I didn't let it deter me. I was too excited with all the opportunities I'd found. After sleeping on it, I realized  the story I was trying to tell wasn't ever going to work as a 10K short. I'm a wordy thing. So, I went back to the drawing board and came up with the book that releases tomorrow. It's a long way from the short story I created so long ago, but I'm proud of it. I hope you enjoy it!

When I think of The Lonely Dominant, rejection and Swine Flu come to mind, but only briefly. The idea for that novel launched my writing journey. As of tomorrow, I'll have three published books out there, one is an Amazon Best seller. I could never have imagined that during that snowy winter not so long ago.

IKR? It's crazy! I never expected to be an Amazon Best Selling author, but I'm thrilled! Be My Everything has been holding strong on the Top 100 list for Erotica for three weeks. I haven't said too much about it because the rankings change so fast, but I have been sneaking a peek at the numbers every so often (every hour on the hour). I'm trying not to be too obsessed with it. lol

Most subs were looking for long-term, hard play, and as secure as I was, I just wasn't into beating or humiliating anyone. I also liked having the power of being able to play when I wanted to.

"I'm not a hard-core Dom. I've dabbled, but I've never collared a sub, and I've never been in a relationship with one before. I would push your limits, but only to show you how much pleasure you could gain. I couldn't do this 24/7 either. We'd have to come up with some sort of agreement, since we live under the same roof." Are we really entertaining this?

"Weekends?" She shrugged. "Maybe we could try it out?"

I smiled and gently kissed her lips. "Yes, I think weekends would work perfectly."

The final has been delivered to Noble Romance. I can breathe a sigh of relief!  Now that I'm done with the edits, I can share a little info on my next release. The Lonely Dominant is set to release on November 14, 2011. It's a BDSM themed story with a romantic twist.

The story is told from Alec's POV (hence the Lonely Dominant). I had to dig deep for this one because I had to get inside Alec's head. Yes, the whole story is written from the MALE POV! I must have been out of my mind when I tackled this one, but I'm happy with the end results.

Why would I attempt to write an entire story from his side? Because it sets me up for Book Two...The Eager Submissive, that's why! lol  But really, I wanted to be able to focus on Alec's feelings, desires and concerns. I wanted to explore what makes him the character he is and I felt the story was enhanced by his voice. I hope you'll agree.

Our first weekend was pretty successful. I couldn't have been more pleased at how compatible we were. I was also happy with how quickly we stepped out of our sexual roles once Sunday afternoon rolled around. I thought there might be an adjustment period, maybe we'd feel awkward, but that wasn't the case. We enjoyed dinner together and Clara joined me in my bed. We didn't have sex, although I had some difficulty keeping my hands off her. I needed to show her physical contact wasn't the only thing I wanted from her.

I had to work late on Monday, finalizing the overseas merger, and since I had been too busy to even log on to my laptop over the weekend, I had a pile of work waiting for me on my desk. To say I was distracted throughout the day was an understatement. I couldn't stop thinking about her and the things we had shared over the past few days.

When I finally arrived home fourteen hours later, I headed up to my room, but I was quickly disappointed when I found my bed empty. I loosened my tie and placed my jacket over the chair by the window, briefly gazing out to the backyard.

Why isn't she in my room?

I thought back and remembered I told her I wanted her to share my bed on the weekends, but I hadn't told her where I wanted her during the week. But, she had stayed with me all night last night and we weren't acting out a scene. We didn't even have sex.

Perhaps she needed her space? Maybe our weekend time had been too overwhelming for her and she didn't want to be with me tonight. That was reasonable. This was a learning process for both of us. We hardly knew one another, and we weren't in a romantic relationship, so why would I expect her to want to be with me every night of the week?

I expected it because I wanted it, and after thinking about her all day, I was going to get what I wanted. I headed down the hall and gently knocked on her door. I heard her footsteps as she walked across the hardwood floor to the door. She quickly opened it and smiled when she saw me.

I was so lost in her eyes I almost forgot what I was doing there in the first place. I glanced down and noticed she was ready for bed. She was wearing flannel pajama bottoms that hung dangerously low, off her hips, and a tight, light, gray tank top. And, from what I could see, she wasn't wearing a bra. There was nothing particularly sexy about the attire except maybe her nipples pushing against the thin material of the top, but she somehow made it look hot. She was perfect.

"Hey." She smiled. "Long day?"

"Can I come in?"

She nodded as she pushed the door open. I followed her into the room, but I couldn't wait any longer to touch her. I grabbed her by her waist and pulled her toward me. When I covered her mouth with mine, she quickly deepened the kiss as I ran my hands up the sides of her body.

"Did you miss me?" She traced her thumb across my bottom lip.

I like when she touches me.

"More than you can imagine." I walked us over to the bed. "Why aren't you in my room?"

She pushed the hair out of my eyes and smiled. "Was I supposed to be?"

"We don't have any rules during the week, but I'd rather hoped you'd be waiting for me when I got home." I tugged on her bottom lip with my teeth. "Unless you don't want to share my bed?"

I arched a brow at her, realizing she was well within her rights to deny me. I just hoped she wouldn't. My cock would also be very disappointed if she turned me away.

These two have a unique set up. They both take what they need from the other, but can it be enough? Hmm...only time will tell.

I'm in the early planning stages of writing The Eager Submissive.  If you haven't guessed, that one will be written from Clara's POV because every tale has another side.
