Crossfire of Love... Sneak Peek

Can an arranged marriage lead to love?
Recent college graduate Gabriella has finally married the man of her dreams, the older, charismatic attorney Lorenzo Martinez. She's had a crush on him for as long as she can remember and always imagined they'd one day find their happily ever after. Unfortunately, they enter into a union arranged by their fathers.
Lorenzo is charming, protective and loyal to his crime lord father Carlo. When Carlo asks Lorenzo to marry Gabriella he jumps at the opportunity. He's been drawn to her for many years and knows by marrying her, he's helping to protect her father.
Gabby is resentful and won't be Lorenzo's charity case. Sparks fly and the couple soon gives into their desire realizing they were meant to be together. What happens when Carlo's enemies threaten their future? Will someone get caught in the crossfire?

I haven't started edits yet, but I hear they're coming. I thought today I'd post a little peek into my latest book.  Crossfire of Love is set to release on March 19, 2012 with Beachwalk Press.
Here's a look at Chapter One

"We have a guest," Maria said. "Don't be rude."
"Lorenzo," Mrs. Martinez said. "This is Gabriella. She's Ace's daughter and she's recently moved in with him."
"Ace has a daughter? That's unexpected." The boy walked over to the table, grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl and smiled at her.
Gabby looked up at the older boy, but she was too shy to speak. She did notice he'd had the most unique green eyes she'd ever seen. She'd never seen such a cute boy before. His hair was dark and he had unshaven stubble on his cheeks and jaw. She didn’t know any boys who had hair on their face. He was so tall, too. He towered over his mother.
"I have to go." He bit into his apple. "I'm going to Aiden's house after school, so I probably won't be home for dinner."
"Did you clear that with your father?" Mrs. Martinez asked. "You know he likes us all here for dinner when he's available."
"But we never know when he'll be available." He kissed his mother's cheek. "Can you tell him, Mom? Please."
"Fine." She sighed. "Just be home before curfew."
"Thanks. You rock."
"So, I'm told." She laughed. "Be careful. You can't afford another speeding ticket."
"Dad can just buy the judge, I'm fine." He smiled as he glanced down at Gabby. "See you around, kid."
She gave him a small smile as she sat mesmerized by his face. That morning in the kitchen she'd experienced her first crush. Lorenzo Martinez was the cutest boy she'd ever laid eyes on. She'd spend many years scribbling his name in her notebook after that day. Her favorite thing to write was Mrs. Lorenzo Martinez.
Sometimes a girl should be careful what she wished for.

FYI - The italic text was a flashback. I kind of started the excerpt in an awkward place.
Follow me here for more sneak peeks into the book. I'll also introduce you to the characters. I'm in love with Lorenzo;)
