Meet Angela Aaron...

I'm pleased to welcome my fellow Noble Romance author Angie Aaron to my world today. Her brand new release is available at Noble. Check out what she has to say...

What motivates Angela Aaron, the author? Why do you write?
Believe it or not, my main motivation is to write what I like to read.  I'm such a sucker for a hot steamy romance with a happy ever-after ending.
When did you know you were a writer? Was it always your destiny or did you stumble upon your craft by accident?
I actually started writing when I was nine years old.  I was a big fan of the tv show "Hear Comes the Brides" (did I just age myself?).  I used to fill notebooks with happy endings for the characters of Candy and Jeremy. Funny how, even at the age of 9, I was attracted to the romantic element between characters.  Before that it was Don and Judy from "Lost in Space."  So I guess you could call it destiny.
What is your favorite genre to write and why?
My favorite genre is m/f extremely erotic (gotta have lots of good steamy scenes) romance.
How did you get into eBook publishing?
My dear friend Heather Peters and I used to write together.  She suggested I give it a try.
How many hours a day do you devote to writing? Do you have a set routine or do you write when the mood strikes?
This is always a hard question.  I am a single mom and I work full-time.  Finding time to write is always a challenge.  I do not have a set routine, but there are certain hours of the day that work better for me;  mostly in the evenings and on weekends.  The summer time is better because the days are longer and I love to write by natural light and glance out the window or go outside in between scenes. When I work on a project I'm obsessed.  I do it till it's done.  Then I dilly-dally around with editing and have to force myself to work.  Editing is not my favorite. After a project is done, I wander aimlessly (not really) until another idea comes to me.
Is there a certain aspect of the story you begin with? Do you create the characters first or do you come up with the plot?
Well, it's a toss up.  Sometimes I come up with the characters, other times the plot comes first.  Either way, for me, the characters drive the story and make it interesting.
Tell us about the most intriguing character you've created.
The most intriguing character I've ever created is Aedan from my newest story, The Fire of Beltane.  He is a Dal Riatic hero from Ancient Ireland/Scotland.  The research that went into creating him was so fascinating. Also, I wrote him with a very heavy accent.  That was so much fun.  I found myself emailing and texting with his slang. I had to write him a little barbaric and at the same time make him a modern man. This balance with his character was really interesting. He kept me interested in completing the story.
What did you do when you found out your first book had been contracted?
I didn't believe it at first.  I was flabbergasted.  It was always part of my bucket list to publish, so it was an incredible feeling to have accomplished one of my goals.

Do you have any words of inspiration to aspiring authors? What advice would you offer a writer trying to publish?
Never give up.  Never.  Write what you love.
Tell us about your current release.
The Fire of Beltane is about school teacher, Aislinn (pronounced Ashlynn) who is very content with her quiet, comfortable life until handsome, mysterious Aedan shows up.  Strange things begin to happen that turn her world upside down. What Aedan asks of Aislinn tests all that she holds dear and her very concept of reality.  The Fire of Beltane is a story full of sizzling romance and magic; where the impossible becomes possible.  It's a story where dreams come true…literally.
Blurb:
When Aedan is denied his soul mate that fateful Beltane night, he is given the gift of immortality, permitting him to wait for her prophesized return. Reunited after eleven-hundred years, he is disheartened to learn his true love holds no memory of him.
Wishing for a distraction from the winter doldrums, Aislinn never expected to be caught up in a whirlwind of magic and danger with a man she has spent her whole life dreaming about. What he asks of her tests the very reality she holds dear.
Now, as Beltane approaches, and with time running out, Aedan and Aislinn must reach Ireland to pledge their love to one another. But in order to live out their destinies, they must overcome an ancient foe determined to see an end to their fated love.
Eleven hundred years he waited for her. He could lose her in a single moment.

Do you have any upcoming projects in the works?
Yes.  I have two.  The first is a medieval erotic romance about a knight is charged with delivering a childhood friend to her betrothed, but the journey proves more tempting than he anticipated.   And the second is a contemporary erotic romance about a sizzling Mediterranean cruise and an unsuspecting Italian hunk.
