New Year Blog Hop

Welcome everyone. Thanks so much for stopping by and participating in the New Year Blog Hop.

When I heard the theme to this hop was favorite New Years memories, I didn't have to think very hard about which one I'd choose.

It would be New Years Eve 1999. I was pregnant with my first son, Jake, and we'd recently found out he was going to be a boy. We lived in the city at the time, so we drove out to the suburbs to visit my grandmother. We stayed the evening, surrounded by family as we ate entirely too much and watched the TV coverage of every country ringing in the millennium.  ABC news and CNN had worldwide coverage as the clock struck midnight around the world. We started with Australia and ended with California. I'm not certain how I made it to three am to see the west coast ring it in, but I did.

That all seems like yesterday. Remember Y2K?

I think the memory of that night sticks with me twelve years later because I was embarking on a new phase in my life... motherhood. A few months later, I'd leave my job and dedicate myself to my new little one. As excited as I was, I was scared to death. What did I know about being a mom?

It all worked out and now my little boy is in middle school and we've added a brother to the mix. Where did the time go? When I look back, it seems like yesterday. How can my boys be 11 and 8 already? And, I'm pushing 40! Really?

Its all good. We've made so many memories in these past twelve years and I'm looking forward to everything life has to give me. We've got nothing but time and I intend to make the most of it.

Happy New Year!

Today I'm offering up one copy each of my most current releases. Leave a comment and your e-mail addy. Let me know if you have a preference, but don't be shy, if you want them both, just let me know. I'll do a random drawing and pick two winners on January 5, 2012.

Successful businessman Alec Carter realizes his life is less than fulfilled when he meets beautiful Princeton University senior Clara Whittaker at a local coffee shop. Alec experiments in the BDSM lifestyle but doesn't consider himself hardcore until he crosses paths with the obviously submissive Clara. The more time Alec spends with young Clara, the more his dominant tendencies push to the surface. She could be what he has been missing.

After her grandmother's death, Clara ends up a guest in Alec's home until she can finish school. She quickly learns she's a natural submissive and decides she wants to explore this new side of herself with the man of house. Alec shows her a life she never knew existed as they enter a world of role playing, fantasy, and desire. Alec may be the Master, but Clara holds the key to his heart.

As the semester comes to an end, so does their arrangement. If Alec doesn't admit his true feelings for Clara, she could walk out of his life forever. But, Alec isn’t sure which she craves more . . . his dominance . . . or his love.

Sometimes love can be found where we least expect it.

When Parker Phillips, a successful attorney, has a confrontation with his friend Ava's abusive boyfriend, he finds himself facing assault and battery charges, and he's ordered to attend an anger management course. Parker, who has never been attracted to a man, is drawn to Dr. Jace Cross, the psychiatrist leading the class. But how can that be, since Parker is straight?

Jace accepted the fact that he was gay many years ago, and he's comfortable in his sexuality, but he's been single for some time now. He throws himself into his work to fill the lonely void.

Although sparks fly whenever they're together, Parker's reluctant to embrace these feelings he has for another man.

Can the sexy doctor help him discover who he truly is?

  3. Wow, I'd love to live in an area with a climate were one could barbeque and be outside on New Years. Actually, it was pretty warm, 40's here this year.

I was just talking to my sister about Y2K, it such a distant memory now, but fun to think about the crazies (I did have some extra food and water though.)

  5. It is fun watching the celebrations around the world on tv. This year the Samoan islands changed the position of the international date line so they got to celebrate 2012 first instead of last. Would like the Lonely Dominant

  14. I remember Y2K and everyone being worried their computers wouldn't work the next day. I usually spend New Years Eve with family - we eat, watch movies or play games, and then toast the New Year at midnight (or before everyone decides to go to bed whichever comes first).

  22. Well my birthdays New Years eve so I could tell tons of stories from that! LOL But one of my most memorable would probably have to be last year just for how funny it was. My friend was 9months pregnant. Due any time and she decided that she wanted to play 'Just Dance' on my wii. So she seriously got into it. It was insane watching her dance with her big belly. I have it on video. Probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. :) Thanks!

  42. I LOVED The Lonely Dominant! So,if I were lucky enough to win, I would choose Embracing the Unexpected, THX!
We usually spend the evening inside with family and friends, lots of good eats...playing cards (poker) and listening to music until the ball's about to drop. Then the wine is poured, toasts made, kisses shared...and then the party usually continues for a little while longer. Those that drank a little too much, or came without a designated driver snuggle in for the night...that's just how we play. Better safe than sorry. :) Happy 2012!
