Meet the Author...Lacey Wolfe

I'm excited to feature my fellow Beachwalk Press author Lacey Wolfe. We shared a release day yesterday!

What motivates Lacey Wolfe the author? What inspires you?

What motivates me the most is the joy of writing. I really like to create stories. My imagination has always been active with stories and how I think things should have happened. I never knew if this was normal or not, but I love writing the stories in my head down. As a child it may have been how I wished an event had played out and now its usually characters who want their story told.

What's your writing routine like? Do you have a set amount of hours a day or do you write when the mood strikes.

I typically write in the mornings. I mainly write Monday thru Friday and take the weekends off to be with the family. I do my best to not do any more writing or promoting once kids get home from school, but I'm still having to learn how to do that. Thankfully my kids are very patient with me.

Why eBook publishing? What made you explore that route?

We all have that dream of seeing our books on a shelf somewhere but times have changed. Everyone reads on an ereader now. Instant gratification. Click, buy, read. Since becoming an author in the ebook industry I don't think I've bought a physical book, only ebooks myself. One reason I choose this route too was that it moves fast. REALLY fast. I have many friends who can't believe the amount of books you can have out in such a short amount of time. Its rewarding as an author too. You write it, edit it, and you don't have to wait years to see it on a shelf.

What are you reading at the moment?

I just finished your great book Embracing The Unexpected. I'm not sure what is next. With the holidays and the rush, my reading time has been cut short.

Are there any TV shows you can't live without?

Dexter and Once Upon a Time.

Fool Me Once is part of a series. How did you come up with the idea and how many books are you planning to do?

Fool Me Once started as just a spicy story and when I brought Skylar's best friend into the story I decided Amy needed a story too. Then decided to give two other women you meet in the book a story too. I plan for this to be a four book series. The books will be stand-alone so you can pick up any one to read at any time.

Did you like writing a series? How was it to intertwine the characters yet make each book stand alone?

This is my first series and I like it. It makes naming my characters easier. :)  Its fun getting to know the characters on a deeper level for me and making it a stand-alone isn't too bad. Each woman has their own lives and when they get their story you get to meet past characters again, which as a reader is one thing I love. Its always fun seeing past characters from stories you've read again.

Have you completed the series? If not, when do you expect to?

I have completed the first two books and I'm working on the third. It will be four books, so book four is still locked away in my head.

I happen to know 2012 is pretty busy for you. What's up next ?

I hope 2012 is great. The second book in the Hot Bods series will be out in early 2012. I also have a more vanilla romance that is part of the Clearwater Series from Breathless Press that will be out before summer of 2012. This is for my friends and families who don't want to read my spicy romances. I have a few other things I've worked on, but since they aren't definite yet, I don't want to jinx them by talking about them.

Any WIP's you have to tell us about?

I'm currently on a break with the holidays but I hope to have book 3 in the Hot Bods series complete soon. After that, I guess I will see who is ready for their story to be told.

Fool Me Once now available...

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice…

Drew is the last person Skylar wanted to see across from her at a local bar. A month ago he'd wined and dined her all weekend, leaving her feeling fully in love, but then she awoke alone in an empty hotel room and she hadn't heard from him since.

The weekend Drew spent with Skylar was phenomenal. There had never been anyone who made him feel as complete as she did. He shouldn't have disappeared, he should have called, but his feelings for her scared him, so he distanced himself. But when he saw her again, he knew he couldn't stay away any longer.

Skylar's determined not to give Drew another chance to hurt her, but he's just as determined to win her back. Although it won't be easy, he's up to the challenge, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish his goal.

Coming soon...
