Meet Lacey Wolfe...

I'm thrilled to have my fellow Beachwalk Press Author Lacey Wolfe joining us today. Her sexy new book, Amber's Muse released yesterday. You have to read it!

What motivates Lacey Wolfe the author? Why do you write?
I have always loved to write about anything and everything. Everyday life motivates me. Bad movies motivate me. I sometimes think, I could have done a better job. Heck, even watching the news motivates me, but probably more toward writing a thriller then a romance.
What is your favorite genre to write and why?
Romance. I love a good contemporary that gets steamy. I don’t want to leave me readers feeling frustrated that the door shut, rather flustered as they read the scene between the hero and heroine. One reason why is that I was once reading book and the characters connection was strong. I could feel it and when they finally got together, I was as ready as them. But, the author completely shut the door. Didn’t even have the two talk about it afterward. I knew when I wrote, I could never do that.
Is there a particular genre you haven't tried but what like to? What is it and why?
I just recently read my first BDSM thanks to Ella Jade. Be My Everything is an excellent starter book to someone who has never read this genre. Maybe one day I will try to write one. I think it would be fun. Reading it definitely opened my eyes more.

How many hours a day do you devote to writing? Do you have a set routine or do you write when the mood strikes?
I try to write a few hours a day on the days the kids are at school. It’s near impossible when they are home. I am still amazed I wrote Amber’s Muse and my upcoming release Fool Me Once with them around. I try to write in the morning while I have my coffee before I begin to clean or other household chores.
What did you do when you found out your first book had been contracted?
It was my sons 7th birthday actually. I had actually already received several rejections. I did a lot more work on Amber’s Muse and to be honest was waiting for my current publisher, Beachwalk Press to send me their rejection. Amber’s Muse was something, to be honest, I didn’t expect to publish. I was testing the waters. The email came through right as my husband came home. I noticed the attachment before reading the email and thought that was different. Then when I read they liked it, I was ecstatic. My hard work had paid off! I have loved being part of the Beachwalk Press team and am looking forward to an ongoing relationship.
Do you have any words of inspiration to aspiring authors? What advice would you offer a writer trying to publish?
Just keep trying. Expect rejection. Yes it stings, but you learn from it. No one writes back and flat out says you suck. They tell you why they are choosing not to publish you and most will still tell you what they liked. Just keep trying. Believe in yourself. If I did it, then I know you can!
Amber’s Muse is about a shy librarian who has a dream to become a writer. However, she has chosen to write erotic romance. Poor Amber though, she doesn’t have the sexual experience she needs to get this book written, so she decides to ask the only man in her life that she thinks she won’t fall for, Jax.

Blurb:
Sometimes it’s the person you least expect who can satisfy all your desires.
By day Amber’s a librarian, and by night she hides away writing erotic romance novels. She has just one problem—not enough sexual experience to pull from. A recent steamy dream leaves Amber wondering if her neighbor Jax might be just the guy who can help her. He seems almost perfect to use as a sexual guinea pig, especially since she doesn’t have to worry about falling in love with him.
Jax has lived next door to Amber for a year and has tried everything he can think of to get her to notice him, but it hasn’t worked. Until recently. When Amber approaches him asking for his help, he’s ready to jump on board. When he learns exactly what kind of help she needs, he’s definitely willing.
Becoming involved with someone like Jax simply isn’t an option for Amber. He barely works, can’t manage his money, and has no ambition in life. So why does he suddenly seem so right for her?

Do you have any upcoming projects in the works?
I have book one of my Hot Bods series coming out with Beachwalk Press late 2011 or early 2012. I plan for this to be a four part novella series. I am currently working on book two.
Where can readers connect with you?
I love twitter! You can find me there all the time.
