Hi! I'm Kailin Gow, and I am excited to include a special version of the Prequel book Summer's Crushed in the Romantically Ever After Box Set. Summer's Crushed is a YA/New Adult Contemporary Romance that is a prequel to another book, Loving Summer, and takes place during high school three years before Loving Summer. It is a pivotal time for the main characters of Loving Summer, which will change their lives. In this version, the story looks into the Donovans more, especially Drew and his relationship with his older brother Nat, and then with his his twin sister Rachel. Summer's Crushed is told through the eyes of the main characters Summer Jones, her crush Nat Donovan, Drew Donovan, and Rachel Donovan as they experience coming of age issues that would change them forever, make them face adulthood earlier than their age, and either make them break or grow stronger. Along the way, they fall in love. Hard. Crazy. Soul-shattering. This book is a mixture of sweet, steamy, sexy (because the Donovan Brothers are just that - sweet, steamy, sexy), and suspenseful. I love writing the Upper YA/New Adult genre because this is an area and age where there are many new discoveries in life and love, yet you're old enough to have knowledge of or to have some peripheral experience in life and love to know something. Things are exciting, the world is a place for exploration, and you never know what could happen. I especially have a close personal tie to this area because I currently serve as on a board as an Advisor to high schools and college academy in curriculum and have been a peer women's counselor while in college. So going back to the plot and story of Summer's Crushed...it was inspired by my own experience growing up in California and spending summers with family friends whom I found out had a crush on me, etc. What happens to the Donovans with their father and mother was also inspired by a true story with a beautiful family I knew whose father's infidelity shattered the family - two beautiful handsome brothers, their gorgeous but fragile mother, and their sister. With Contemporary Romance, there is more realism which is perfect for the way Summer's Crushed and then Loving Summer is told. Because of this, I hope this story resonates well with everyone who reads it and can find something relatable to the characters or the story or even being able to relate to how it is to fall in love.

About the Author...

From visiting Romania, Award-winning and Million-Selling Author Kailin Gow was asked to write stories about vampires; visiting the Black Forest in Germany and seeing the castles of Europe inspired her to write fantasy; visiting Asia's mystical mountains inspired her to write action adventure and mythological dystopians.
