HELP! I LOST 3,500 PREORDERS!

There was a GLITCH with AMAZON! The Romantically Ever After Box Set was scheduled to release on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. On Sunday, we received an email letting us know that the preorder had been cancelled and customers were being notified. The book was pulled! Two days before release. Seriously?

As many of you know, my fellow authors and I have been promoting, marketing, and sharing about this book for over six months. There's a lot of money tied up in that advertising, most of it we can't get back. The toughest part of this whole thing? We WERE in a good position to possibly hit the USA Today Bestsellers list going into release day. We needed those preorders.

I'm asking (begging) for your HELP. Amazon has fixed their mistake (sort of). They put the book back up in time for release day but they CANNOT reinstate those 3,500 preorders. That's a devastating blow for this set. It took months to get those orders. We have a week, if we want to hit the USA Today list, (trust me, we do now more than ever!) to get those sales back.

Here's where you come in. If you have already preordered this book, PLEASE repurchase it. You won't be charged twice. If you haven't bought it, and have $0.99 to spare, the book is available now. Please consider supporting us.

R.L. Kenderson is two best friends writing under one name. Renae has always loved reading, and in third grade, she wrote her first poem where she learned she might have a knack for this writing thing. Lara remembers sneaking her grandmother’s Harlequin novels when she was probably too young to be reading them, and since then, she knew she wanted to write her own. When they met in college, they bonded over their love of reading and the TV show Charmed. What really spiced up their friendship was when Lara introduced Renae to romance novels. When they discovered their first vampire romance, they knew there would always be a special place in their hearts for paranormal romance. After being unable to find certain storylines and characteristics they wanted to read about in the hundreds of books they consumed, they decided to write their own. Romantically Ever After Featured Author... Isla Olsen

The genre I'm writing is MM Romantic Comedy. I first started reading MM romance back in 2016 when I came across a book by Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen called 'Him'; I was already a huge fan of Elle Kennedy's off-campus series and this one also appeared to be a light-hearted romp about college-aged hockey players...except of course both characters were guys. I wasn't sure going in if I'd like it but I thought 'what the hell? I may as well give it a shot and if I don't like it there's no harm done'. Well, I'm so glad I did give it a shot because that book was fantastic and it opened up a whole new genre for me. I still love MF romance, but MM is absolutely my favourite both for reading and writing.

So what is it about MM, and particularly MM romantic comedy that I love so much? Well, for starters, two hot guys is always going to be better than one, right? Secondly, I love exploring the emotional side. Being romantic comedies my books are pretty low on angst, but they're still full of love and having two guys wrestle with their feelings and make themselves vulnerable to each other is really something special. I also love the added tropes that come with MM; of course there are the old classics like Billionaire, Friends-to-Lovers, Enemies-to-Lovers, Boss/Employee, Best Friend's Sibling etc, but there's also Out for You (where one MC comes out for the other), Bi/Pan awakening (where one or both MCs who always thought they were straight realise they are actually into guys), Twink and Bear (small guy and big, brawny guy), Daddy/Boy (Age gap - MC is over 18 of course!), MMM+ (more than two guys in the relationship). Needless to say, there is plenty to keep a writer and reader on their toes!

If you've never read any MM before but would like to test the waters, here are a few books that are great for 'entry level' readers: - Him by Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen (as mentioned above, this was my first MM book!) - Tropes include friends-to-lovers, bi awakening, sports romance (hockey). I like to write romance novels. I write any flavour of romance, ie I have some sweet contemporary romance which i call my Chocolate Box Romances and market them as that. Then I write dark romance about marital abuse and rape. Romance takes shapes in lots of different ways and who says that sweet and romantic is the way that everyone wants to fall in love. Some have passionate, aggressive relationships and some fall in love with their captors. I always like to have a happy ever after because isn't that what we all want in life? I love the convoluted route that love can take and sometimes it just hits from out of nowhere. Sometimes characters need to work for it and sometimes it comes early in they have to work at it and maybe lose their way.
